How much monitoring is needed to reliably track progress towards genetic diversity targets?

This study provides guidance to Parties on how many species and populations need to be monitored to reliably report Headline Indicator A.4. The recommendations are feasible for many countries, using available data, and are robust to anticipated errors in data.

Mainstreaming genetic diversity indicators through the IUCN Red List process: A national-scale assessment of South African mammals

This study demonstrates the first comprehensive assessment of genetic indicators for a full taxonomic group - all of South Africa's 320 mammal taxa. The study also demonstrates the ability to quickly mobilize genetic indicator-relevant data by aligning genetic indicator assessment with existing Red Listing processes.
